Sand uplift at Long Ke Wan after Typhoon Mangkhut
I finally got around to doing the before and after images of the sand uplift at Long Ke Wan. Roughly half a meter of sand has been deposited up the beach. The downside is that the grasses and small trees by the beach won't come back any time soon - the soil layer is a long way down, there's not even much opportunity to do some restorative planting.
On the other hand, Long Ke Wan is now a very large beach and we might see people find new recreational uses for the location. It's easy to find an empty space to land a paraglider...
