I found this gorgeous girl walking up Violet Hill yesterday. Wasn't too sure if it was the Greater Green Snake (non-venomous) or the Bamboo "Pit Viper" Snake (venomous). Given the latter is more common and she was a bit aggressive towards anything that got close, the assumption was the viper. She was certainly not scared of people, and wasn't in any mood to move out of the way.
After getting home, checking the photos against the snake reference shows indeed that she was the Bamboo Pit Viper.
Coincidentally earlier in the walk, I was remarking to myself that it's been a good couple of years since I last saw a snake in the wild.
